A steel story added on the roof of an existing single-story house. H-beam columns stand on piers on the roof, and the walls and roof are clad in corrugated metal sheet.
Project notes
This project added a steel story on the roof of an existing single-story house. H-beam columns stand on concrete piers on the roof slab and carry steel beams and gable roof frames, with galvanized C-section steel used for the purlins and wall girts. Erection was done with a crane. In the photos taken after the walls were closed in, the new story’s walls and roof are light-colored corrugated metal sheet, with windows fitted and a balcony left at the front.
The client is a private individual and is not named for privacy reasons.
