Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

General

Where does TEI-JEN-GANG work?
We mainly build in central Taiwan: Changhua, Taichung, Nantou and Yunlin. The company is in Xiushui Township, Changhua County. We also take projects elsewhere in Taiwan, such as a soil-recycling plant in Luzhu, Kaohsiung, and overseas, such as a turnkey factory in Chachoengsao, Thailand. See this project: Turnkey Factory in Chachoengsao, Thailand →
How do I get a quote, and what should I prepare?
Use the free quote form on this site, LINE, or call +886-4-768-8550. Start with the site location, intended use and floor area; within two working days we reply with a preliminary tonnage and schedule estimate. We then arrange a site survey and provide a formal quotation.
How does a project run from design to completion?
All three stages use the same data. First, a 3D model in Tekla Structures, with clash checks and connection reviews completed before drawings are issued. Next, our Japanese DAITO line and laser cutting fabricate from the model, etching weld positions and piece marks during cutting. Finally, members ship in batches by piece mark and are erected in the order planned in the model.

Custom Factories

Should the factory be built first, and the machines placed afterwards?
It works the other way round: column positions and spans follow the production flow and machine layout. Where cranes are needed, the crane runways are designed together with the main structure, and machine foundations, mezzanines and offices are located in the same model.
Can a new factory be joined to an existing one?
Yes. Changqing Horticulture (Tianwei, Changhua) is the middle section joining an old and a new building: the column positions, levels and openings at both ends were fixed, and the new section had to meet them. The roof beams are curved and the plan is irregular, so every member's length and angle had to be worked out individually. See this project: Changqing Horticulture Link Between Old and New Factories →

Overseas Turnkey Projects

Does TEI-JEN-GANG have overseas experience?
Yes. In 2025 we built a factory in Chachoengsao, Thailand, for a Taiwanese-owned company: a portal-frame structure, from erecting the column lines through to roof and wall cladding, with on-site construction management. See this project: Turnkey Factory in Chachoengsao, Thailand →
What is the biggest risk of building overseas, and how do you handle it?
The risks are mostly outside the structure itself: weather, regulations, language and local equipment are not in our hands. We recalculate the erection plan around the cranes and crews actually available locally, re-sequence the work around dry spells in the rainy season, and think through every variable before we leave. See this project: Turnkey Factory in Chachoengsao, Thailand →

Logistics & Warehousing

Can a warehouse have no columns in the middle?
Long-span, column-free space can be planned. Column positions follow the racking layout and loading flow, and loading docks and canopies are considered at the design stage.
Can a warehouse be repaired or demolished while it is still in use?
Yes, zone by zone. The Xuye warehouse repairs and demolition were carried out one zone at a time, over several phases, while the warehouse stayed in normal use. See this project: Xuye Warehouse Repairs and Demolition →

Public Works

Can school projects be built during term time?
It depends on the work and the school's arrangements. During construction of the covered pick-up area at Wenxiang Elementary School (2018, Huatan, Changhua), classes continued as normal, and lifting and welding avoided drop-off, pick-up and break times. The contract was awarded through a public tender and is on record in Taiwan's Government e-Procurement System. See this project: Covered Pick-up Area at Wenxiang Elementary School →
What is different about steelwork for temples?
A temple cannot stop its worship, so construction has to fit around ceremonies and the movement of worshippers. The constraints are mostly about timing and the interface with existing buildings, not the structure itself.

Private Homes

Can the structure of a steel-frame home be left exposed?
Yes. When the structure is exposed, the weld is the finished surface, so welding and edge finishing are held to a higher standard than in a factory. Carports, skylight canopies and sculptural roofs follow the same standard.
Can a townhouse in the city be built in steel?
Yes. For a four-story street-front house in Changhua City (2025), the ground floor was an operating shop, three sides were tight against neighboring buildings, and the front opened straight onto the sidewalk with no laydown space. The order in which members arrived on site was the order of construction. See this project: Townhouse Steel Structure, Changhua City →

Farms & Ranches

What needs special attention in steel for ranches and pig houses?
Livestock environments are more corrosive than ordinary factories, so galvanizing and paint specifications are set separately. Animal housing also needs different spans and clear heights from a factory, so when both are built on one site they are designed separately. See this project: New Pig House and Factory for Jinxing →
Can a ranch keep operating during construction?
Yes, in phases and zones. The Haochuan Dairy Farm project (Fuxing, Changhua) ran over six years in five phases, all inside a farm where the cows kept their normal routine, and included the building permit application. See this project: New Buildings and Extensions at Haochuan Dairy Farm →

Factory Legalization

Can an old factory be legalized?
It depends on its condition. We start with an as-built survey and reverse modeling to decide which existing members can stay and which must be replaced, then plan strengthening and any extension or reduction, and help obtain the building and occupancy permits.
When rebuilding an old factory, can demolition and permitting run in parallel?
Yes, but how much to demolish and how much to keep must first match the scope of the permit application: demolish too much and parts that were legal need new permits; demolish too little and the new structure cannot connect. The Taihua factory rebuild planned demolition and permitting together. See this project: Taihua Factory Rebuild and Legalization →

Steel Fabrication & Installation

Do you take small steel jobs?
Yes. Carports, gates, stairs, water tower stands, skylight canopies and similar items, from shop fabrication to on-site installation, all to the same cutting and welding standards.
Can solar mounting be added to an existing factory roof?
Yes. The roof of our own Plant 1 is an example: the mounting is fixed directly to the existing roof with no new foundations, and the challenge is waterproofing every fixing point. The roof was covered in two batches, and our own team does the maintenance. See this project: TEI-JEN-GANG Plant 1 Rooftop Solar Mounting →
