A long, narrow site squeezed between buildings, where steel columns covered in welded studs were stood up by crane, followed by H-beams and cross bracing.
Project notes
The site for this project is squeezed between existing buildings and is long and narrow. The steel columns have studs welded all over their faces and were lifted upright by a crane in the lane, with H-beams then set between the columns. H-beam cross bracing is also added between the beams and columns, with the connections bolted through gusset plates, and workers wearing safety harnesses work on the frame. Rows of reinforcing bars stand on the ground around it. The photos are from the steel erection stage.
