Project notes
The sculptural round-tube tree canopy at Quanguo Liyuan, which also included the structure of an Earth God shrine, carried out from 2013 to 2014.
The difficulty with sculptural round tubes is that there is no standard to copy. The H-beams in an ordinary factory have specification tables; curved round tubes do not. The radius and connection angle of every tube have to be laid out individually, and if one is wrong, it has to be made again.
This is also an example of how the company “does more than build boxes”.
