New Build and Demolition at the New Century Soil Recycling Plant
The site of a construction surplus soil processing plant is all crushed rock and backfill, so crane setup and the positioning of machine foundations had to be worked out anew.
Technical highlights
- New build and demolition at the same time — Steel structure installation and cladding were completed in 2023, and the existing factory buildings were demolished in two stages in 2024.
- Machine foundations — The foundations for the soil processing equipment had to be positioned together with the steel structure, with tighter tolerances than a typical factory.
Project notes
New Century’s construction surplus soil and rock recycling plant (soil recycling plant) in Luzhu and Alian, Kaohsiung. Work started in January 2023 and covered steel structure installation, corrugated wall cladding and machine foundations, along with demolition of the existing factory buildings in two stages in 2024.
The ground conditions at a soil recycling plant differ from a typical industrial park: the ground is crushed rock and backfill, not a leveled factory site. The surface the cranes stand on and the positioning of the steel column foundations both needed separate treatment.
